First, check maintenance status: Clash Plus, Clash Verge Rev, FlClash and Clash Meta for Android are all under active development, while Clash for Windows and ClashX Meta are no longer maintained and kept only as archives. Second, check protocol requirements: if your subscription includes newer protocols like VLESS, Hysteria2 or TUIC, you must use a client built on the mihomo / Meta core, since the original core can't recognize those nodes — see the technical reference for protocol trade-offs. Do the download buttons point to the latest version?

Yes. When the page loads, it reads the latest version number and installer address for each client from a version manifest and swaps the download buttons to the current links. If the manifest request fails, the buttons fall back to the fixed addresses built into the page, so downloads still work, just possibly at a slightly older version. The version number shown on each card updates from the same source as the buttons.

Which client should I pick on Windows?

Start with Clash Plus: a complete interface, intuitive subscription management, built on the mihomo core with the widest protocol coverage. If you prefer community-maintained open-source builds, choose Clash Verge Rev or FlClash — the two are similar in scope, differing mainly in interface and configuration-enhancement approach. Clash for Windows is no longer maintained and is offered only as an archived download, not recommended for new users.

How do I tell Apple Silicon and Intel builds apart on macOS?

Click the Apple menu at the top left and choose About This Mac. If the Chip field shows an Apple M series (M1/M2/M3, etc.), download the Apple Silicon (arm64) build; if it shows an Intel processor, download the Intel (x64) build. Installing the wrong architecture can prevent the app from launching, or force it to run through an emulation layer with a noticeable performance hit.

Clash for Windows is no longer maintained - can I still download and use it?

You can download the archived build, and existing configurations will keep working, but there are no further feature updates or bug fixes, and the original core does not support newer protocols like VLESS or Hysteria2, so subscriptions containing such nodes will fail to parse. What is the difference between arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a on Android?

arm64-v8a targets 64-bit processors and covers the vast majority of Android phones released in recent years, so pick it first; armeabi-v7a targets older 32-bit devices, with a smaller package but a lower performance ceiling. If you are unsure of your device's architecture, download the universal package, which is larger but compatible with every architecture. An "invalid package" error during install usually means an architecture mismatch.

What is the difference between the mihomo core archive and the GUI clients?

The core is a command-line program with no graphical interface, aimed at servers, routers and Docker setups; it requires a manually written YAML configuration file and is started via a command or systemd service. Regular desktop and mobile users should just download the GUI client for their platform, since the core is already bundled inside it — no separate installation needed.
